  • Did you know that most people with addictions were victims of childhood trauma? People have a lot of sympathy for abused children, but not for adult addicts who should "just stop using." However, if you saw these men and women for who they are, children who were abandoned, neglected, abused and traumatized, you'd get a better sense of why they are numbing or energizing themselves with substances.
  • By the time we meet these traumatized children in adult bodies, they have pretty much burned every bridge, are destitute, friendless, jobless and homeless. They have lied, stolen, betrayed friends and family, all to get the substances they NEED to be able to cope with the ever-present stream of painful emotions and horrible memories they have accumulated starting in childhood. They are in jail and have no prospects for jobs and cannot afford their mandated recovery.
  • Left in the wake of their wide path of self-destruction are their family members, especially their children. They were previously parentless even when their parents were around because addiction is a jealous mistress that demands all of your attention. But now, those children are cut off completely from at least one parent. Some are in foster homes, some at relatives' houses, but all are missing the one required component that they need to grow up big and strong and emotionally whole - a healthy, loving, attentive parent.
  • So we have joined with United Way of Atlanta to spearhead a program that enables poverty-level men and women to afford the recovery services they so desperately need, as well as provide them with a safe job so they can provide for the family members left behind who are struggling financially. The goal is to help them find virtual careers in customer service with online companies so they can work a job from the safety of the recovery house instead of in the midst of their normal drug-infested situations. Then, if they wish, they can take the job home with them after they graduate recovery. Joint Conferences is one of those companies. You could be one of those companies as well - ASK US HOW.
  • So your $99 a year Membership fees are actually a tax-deductible donation to RPM Ministries Inc, who is building businesses for the purpose of hiring people in recovery. All of our business employees are either in recovery or post-recovery. All of the money (minus any affiliate fees we pay out) goes to paying for wages, business-related costs and recovery services.
  • RPM Ministries Inc has been in the recovery ministry since 2011 with Celebrate Recovery, Classes, Counseling and now our THOR (Transitional Housing for Offender Re-Entry) approved residential program, Good Shepherd Recovery House. We have plans for adding an outpatient clinic and online addiction counseling services. Learn more about the United Way Spark Prize that is making this happen. Join us in our mission
